Lawrence Co Fire (South Fire Response)

Lawrence Co Fire (South Fire Response)

155.8125 / 153.8225 repeater – 172 DPL ( WQIY468 )

I’m not close enough to verify the repeater input. But according to the FCC license, it appears to be the one I listed above. Sounds like Fire Dispatch. Heard 2200 (2204 / 2205) working LEOC

LEOC is Lawrence County 911. “2200″ is Perry Twp FD. This is weak for me, so I can’t make out everything. Heard some other Fire/EMS agency get dispatched out as well.

It’s definitely Lawrence Co Fire traffic on this freq. Also heard 2200 calling for mutual aid assist from station 1800 (no joy).

Unlike the vast majority of the other Lawrence Co fire freqs listed in the RRDB, this one is obviously a repeater.

You’re guess is as good as mine as far as how it should appear in the DB. I probably won’t monitor it often enough to determine if it’s Fire/EMS dispatch or just fire.

update: As of 2-25-2010 this is listed in RRDB as South Fire Response, so somebody with more knowledge of what goes on up in Lawrence Co obviously has submitted a more specific description. So I have updated the information here to indicate South Fire Response.

Columbiana Co Metropolitan Housing Authority (CCMHA)

Columbiana Co Metropolitan Housing Authority (CCMHA)

462.125 / 467.125 repeater – 131.8 PL

No license for this entity. After months of listening to random chatter and hourly radio checks involving locations such as “Woodland Hills”, “Fawcett”, “Indy” etc I figured out it was CCMHA after doing some Googling. “Indy” is Independence Square in Wellsville – Fawcett and Woodland Hills are housing in East Liverpool.

No other entities heard on this freq. I have to assume it is in-house security since there is no other security traffic on the freq besides that which is between the CCMHA housing facilities.

Heard ~ 11 PM 4-19-09 on input, 159.0675, strong pl 206.5. Heard output too weak to copy PL tone. So unsure of tone on the output.

Carrollton signs agreement with Ohio MARCS

From the April 13th council minutes pulled from an article on the Carrollton Free Press Standard website:

-ENTERED into an agreement with Ohio Office of Information Technology, Multi-Agency Radio Communications System (MARCS) program to provide six radios for the police department and one radio for the village fire department. These radios would allow police and fire to communicate with the Sheriff’s office. The Sheriff’s department is changing over to the MARCS system. The contract lists fees of $240 per month for police radios and a one-time $50 fee for fire department. However, Fowler explained Darryl Anderson, MARCS program manager told him these fees would be covered through grant monies. Anderson later learned these fees did not qualify to be paid by grant monies. Fowler is going to continue to work on getting these fees alleviated.
