Federal Correctional Institution – Elkton (Columbiana Co, OH)
(more info from RadioReference)
I am the one who first documented this system and submitted it to RadioReference.
- Motorola Type II Smartnet
- 3600 baud control channel
- Digital audio
406.8125 ac
407.0125 ac
408.2500 ac
408.8125
410.4000 cc
The control channel rotates between the four frequencies listed above that are designated as CC or AC.
This system is a UHF trunked system and uses a custom bandplan. Without a custom bandplan programmed in your scanner, you are not going to track this system properly.
I am not a guru at figuring out custom bandplans. I know what works for me on a Uniden and on a GRE PSR-500 and RS PRO-197.
Uniden:
Base: 406
Spacing: 12.5
Offset: 407
GRE PSR-500/600 and RS PRO-197/106:
Lo Chan: 472
Hi Chan: 759
Offset: 407
Base: 406
Step: 12.5
There are probably a dozen talkgroups in use, but most of them thus far are not completely identified. If you are interested in monitoring this system you should consider adding a Group Wildcard / setting the system to Open Mode so that you hear all of the talkgroups.
There is encryption on this system once in a while. All talkgroups are digital.
