Wheeling Public Safety trunked system reverts to pre-rebanding frequencies

As of 1-26-2010 the Wheeling Public Safety trunked system has reverted back to its frequency configuration prior to rebanding.

They were experiencing communications problems for the past few weeks and finally took the system down for troubleshooting.     When it came back online reliably, it was using the pre-rebanding frequencies.

Until further notice you should program your Wheeling Public Safety trunked system with the information in the link below.

Hancock to seek bids for backup radio system

NEW CUMBERLAND – A backup radio system for Hancock County safety forces would have a price tag of about $180,000, Tom Zielinski told Hancock County commissioners at Thursday’s meeting.

Commissioners unanimously approved a request for bids for the system from Zielinski, executive director of Hancock County Office of Technology and Communications. Zielinski wants to have a bid ready for the commission to consider at the Feb. 18 meeting.

Monitored today cruising around at border of Cross Creek discussing plow pins. Also heard Cross Creek calling to Cross Creek base to open the door upon return to garage.

The license belongs to Mt Pleasant Township. The activity I heard was Cross Creek. Perhaps both townships share the frequency?

OVScan / ScanOhioValley 2010

Yes, a new facelift for OVScan / ScanOhioValley in 2010.    Since visitors to previous versions of this site rarely if ever participated in the message boards, I decided to do away with message boards altogether.

Instead I’ll use this site to provide useful links to the monitoring enthusiast as well as information I come across that may be of interest to those scanner listeners in the Upper Ohio Valley.

This site is mainly intended for me.   If someone else benefits from it or enjoys what it has to offer, that’s just icing on the cake.
