Toronto DPW – snow plows
464.400 DPL 245 – simplex
Hearing Toronto street department plowing Trenton, Loretta, Market, Titanium Way and a few others. Weak from my location and appears to be simplex.
Based upon some info I’ve been given in the past, various radios in Toronto are programmed with various different simplex frequencies to allow communications off of the trunked system – such as for working special events, fire TAC, etc.
At any rate, I have no clue if this is an often-used frequency that i just came across, or if it’s just being used now by plows.
Program it in and listen.

This is a quick review of the beta releast of ScannerLive. ScannerLive is a Windows application that allows you to listen to multiple scanner streams simultaneously. You can listen to scanner audio streams from RadioReference as well as from other sites as long as those sites offer compatible streams.
This application has many features, but since it is beta and since I only use the application for one reason, I won’t go over all the features. What I will say is that if the streams that you want to listen to are provided by RadioReference, you can load up a bank of 10 different streams in no time at all and have a lot of fun listening.
The features I think are best thus far are:
- ability to listen to 10 feeds at once
- ability to mute individual feeds
- ability to set a volume level for individual feeds
- ability to prioritize individual feeds
- ability to have multiple banks (of up to 10 streams)
- ability to import RR-provided streams quickly and easily
Rob Dale ( rdale from RadioReference ) has done a superb job on this application so far. When it is released to the public I think it is going to go over big. It is extremely useful. I am sure that it will become even more refined with time and that we will see even more features.
I can’t give you a link to it yet, because as far as I know there isn’t a website set up with all of the details yet. I will, however, provide a screenshot below.

Those of you living in or monitoring Brooke Co might want to listen to this interesting conversation. This was heard on TG 155 of the Ohio Co P25 trunked system. For those of you that do not know, TG 155 on the OC system is Brooke Co EMA.
I won’t translate this into my own words since that may be construed as divulging information. Instead, you can listen for yourself.
NOTE: When you click on the link below, there wait 5 to 7 seconds and you’ll start hearing the pertinent traffic.

EAST PALESTINE — City police have a new tool to better communicate with law enforcement agencies through a grant from a state anti-terrorism program. The department’s copies of iLincs computer software are now live. The software, which is loaded in laptop computers in the department’s cruisers, allows officers to communicate with other law enforcement agencies across the state, provided that those agencies also use the program.

MARTINS FERRY – The fate of Martins Ferry’s city 911 service and its dispatchers may be decided today.
City Council’s Finance Committee met Saturday to come up with a plan to trim roughly $154,000 from the budget. One option to be presented to council tonight includes the elimination of the city’s dispatchers and a return to relying on dispatching services provided by Belmont County 911.
