ScannerLive Beta

This is a quick review of the beta releast of ScannerLive.  ScannerLive is a Windows application that allows you to listen to multiple scanner streams simultaneously.   You can listen to scanner audio streams from RadioReference as well as from other sites as long as those sites offer compatible streams.

This application has many features, but since it is beta and since I only use the application for one reason, I won’t go over all the features.   What I will say is that if the streams that you want to listen to are provided by RadioReference, you can load up a bank of 10 different streams in no time at all and have a lot of fun listening.

The features I think are best thus far are:

  • ability to listen to 10 feeds at once
  • ability to mute individual feeds
  • ability to set a volume level for individual feeds
  • ability to prioritize individual feeds
  • ability to have multiple banks (of up to 10 streams)
  • ability to import RR-provided streams quickly and easily

Rob Dale ( rdale from RadioReference ) has done a superb job on this application so far.   When it is released to the public I think it is going to go over big.    It is extremely useful.   I am sure that it will become even more refined with time and that we will see even more features.

I can’t give you a link to it yet, because as far as I know there isn’t a website set up with all of the details yet.   I will, however, provide a screenshot below.
