Port Authority of Allegheny Co (PAT) – unsure of use

453.75 / 458.75 repeater – 192.8 PL ( WNWW689 )

I scan UHF constantly. Strangely enough I don’t ever remember landing on these frequencies before. But tonight they are coming in pretty well, or they are more active as usual and I’m just getting some hits.

Heard references to Arlington, South Side, Josephine, etc on 453.500. Just monitored dispatch talking to a bus having trouble with lights on 453.300. Heard activity on 453.75 but unsure of what they are doing. I figured I’d listen to them since there are multiple frequencies licensed under WNWW689 and I was hearing traffic on others.

Will continue to monitor.

Pittsburgh School Police

PittsburghPoPo over on the RadioReference forums indicated that the Pittsburgh School Police switched to P25 digital – View his post here.

I can’t pull in the signal strong enough to confirm the F18 NAC, but I’m sure he’s correct. Extremely weak [partial decode mostly] over here in Ohio.

Heard Station 110 on the air tonight with multiple units working a fire at UPMC with references to St Thomas Moore and Physical Therapy room.

Bethel Park Fire’s own website ( http://www.bethelparkvfc.com/ ) indicates they are station 110. The license is issued to Bethel Park and indicates it is for fire.

Monitored for about half an hour tonight.

Heard “30″, “113″ and one or two others checking on a suspicious vehicle – After a records check or two by dispatch, they pulled the vehicle over at Park Ave. There were references to McKeesport (across the river I think) with regard to the license check.

South Park Twp DPW

151.145 / xxx.xxx repeater – 226 DPL ( WPSP352 )

The license is for Broughton VFD (in South Park Twp). Today I heard road crews plowing snow — landmarks were “Ridge Rd at Bonnie Dell” – see google map for that location.

Other sites list this as South Park Fire / PD TAC 2. So far I can only confirm the road department using it.
