Toronto DPW – snow plows
464.400 DPL 245 – simplex
Hearing Toronto street department plowing Trenton, Loretta, Market, Titanium Way and a few others. Weak from my location and appears to be simplex.
Based upon some info I’ve been given in the past, various radios in Toronto are programmed with various different simplex frequencies to allow communications off of the trunked system – such as for working special events, fire TAC, etc.
At any rate, I have no clue if this is an often-used frequency that i just came across, or if it’s just being used now by plows.
Program it in and listen.
Smithfield Twp DPW (Jefferson Co, OH)
464.125 / 469.125 repeater – 103.5 PL ( WNWW982 )
Caught them in January plowing at the junction of Twp 138 and SR-151 – see map. This could be Wayne Twp but I believe it’s Smithfield Twp.

Caught them today plowing Twp 126/127/128 and Bonnie Lane today. Also heard today plowing Twp 106 and Cottage Lane. On Jan 8, 2010 At one point they were plowing snow between CR-10 and CR-150 on Twp 128.

Ross Township DPW

Repeater input unbeknownst to me. Confirmed during winter storm. Heard about five different DPW vehicles plowing / cleaning up at various points around the township, such as Babcock/Mcknight, Thompson Run, Macintyre, Deer Dr at Byron Rd, Swan Acres.

South Park Twp DPW
151.145 / xxx.xxx repeater – 226 DPL ( WPSP352 )
The license is for Broughton VFD (in South Park Twp). Today I heard road crews plowing snow — landmarks were “Ridge Rd at Bonnie Dell” – see google map for that location.
Other sites list this as South Park Fire / PD TAC 2. So far I can only confirm the road department using it.

Smith Twp DPW / plows
155.805 simplex – 127.3 PL ( WNYF871 )
During this latest snowstorm I monitored Smith Twp plows along Candor Rd and Midway-Candor Rd plowing and heading toward Bulger.
Other sites list this frequency as being used by Cross Creek Twp and Robinson Twp as well. However, I have only monitored Smith Twp thus far.
