New Communications Tower to Enhance Wireless Service

The state Office of Information Technology is on the verge of constructing a communications tower in the Alliance area that will serve public safety agencies plus help bring Internet services to Columbiana County’s Knox Township.

The tower will be built on the Knox Township Hall property at 2895 Knox School Rd. The tower will be operated by Multi-Agency Radio Communication System, a state radio and data network providing wireless communication services to subscribers throughout Ohio.

Police Aid School In Purchase Of Radios

WHEELING – The halls of Warwood School will soon be safer as Wheeling Police and school officials have teamed to purchase 28 radios to be used by teachers and staff.

The radios will replace the existing method of communication, which Warwood School Principal Andy Garber said was actually three separate systems.

I can’t pull in the signal strong enough to confirm the F18 NAC, but I’m sure he’s correct. Extremely weak [partial decode mostly] over here in Ohio.

Monitored them for a while today. Referencing Gorby Rd, L2 through L7, Craecraft Rd, Claysville High School, Pleasant Grove. This repeater is a business repeater licensed to Crystal Sound Systems.

Washington School District in Washington PA contracts bus transportation for K-8 to GG&C. It is very popular in WPA to hear active GG&C frequencies handling school bus transportation for various school districts [thus the existence of another GGC freq in Washington Co already).

This one was identified today when the dispatcher came on and gave an announcement:

“Washington School District drivers, school will resume back on January 5th, teachers ONLY will resume back on the 4th”
