ID list files have been renamed from BANKn.DAT to IDsn.DAT (where n is the bank number). The format of the frequency file has changed.

Installation Notes

Updating From Versions Prior to 3.1.0

Most users will need to install the complete setup kit instead of copying the executable. Due to changes in the recording and logging settings, the record and log settings should be verified.

Updating From Versions Prior to 2.6.2

Due to a data file format change, ID descriptions with commas will not be read properly. To correct the problem you may enclose the description in the data files in quotes ("). This change was necessary to allow the addition of new fields. See "Notes" in the help file for additional information.

Updating From Versions Prior to 2.6.0

In order to accommodate the additional banks (11 to 20), the naming conventions used for the frequency and ID files were changed. Before running V2.6.0 for the first time you should rename the following files:

Updating From Versions Prior to 2.4.0

You must move the data files (IDsn.DAT and FREQn.DAT) to the sub-folder "Data" of the application's folder. Example: If you installed the program in "C:\Program Files\IDTracker", the data files should be copied to "C:\Program Files\IDTracker\Data".

Updating From Versions Prior to 2.0.0

The format of the data files have changed. You must copy your BANKn.DAT files to IDsn.DAT where n is the bank number. Please move your old files FREQn.DAT to another folder or any information in them will be lost.

Known Issues
The following are known and / or unresolved issues.

When recording audio there are sometimes repeated segments of audio or inconsistent audio levels. This appears to be caused by certain audio systems. After replacing the audio system built into my motherboard with a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1, my audio problems disappeared. This is not an endorsement of the Sound Blaster or a guarantee that this will correct any problems that you may experience.
When scanning conventional frequencies, do not set the bank trunk type to LTR. Due to the way LTR systems are scanned, ID Tracker is unable to tell the difference between IDs and frequencies.
On a few systems, the error "MMSYSTEM296 The file cannot be played on the specified MCI device." is displayed and a temporary file is created in the audio folder. The cause is unknown. Upgrading the operating system fixed the problem for one user.
Older Windows 98 systems sometimes have problem recording audio. The problem seems to be with the audio system's inability to handle the rapid starting and stopping of recording audio. The problem generally results in an audio file with a file length of zero bytes. ID Tracker will delete these files in order to continue recording.
